Because NAIWE Words Matter is an e-zine for independent writing-service providers, the editors are looking for articles and short items that cover broad, topical issues related to the business of words:

  • Professional development
  • Innovative business-building ideas and resources
  • News, trends, and developments in word-related fields
  • Education and outreach opportunities with government and industry
  • Events that increase awareness of career opportunities in word-related fields
  • Relevant book and software reviews

Style Guidelines

Writing should be clear, accurate, and concise.

All acronyms should be spelled out on first reference.

Final editing decisions will be made using The Chicago Manual of Style (The University of Chicago Press) and the Shorter Oxford English Dictionary.

PLEASE NOTE: The editors reserve the right to edit material once it has been accepted for publication.

Submission Process

All submissions should be submitted via e-mail to the editorial contact address below. Please submit each article as a text document, double-spaced, with one-inch margins on each side. At the end of each article, please include a brief (100 words or so) biographical sketch including the author's name, business name, and website address.

Please allow at least 12 weeks for your submission to complete the review process. Every article submitted to NAIWE Words Matter is reviewed carefully by the magazine's editorial staff.
